Re color my hair for my birthday ., right now it is high-lighted which i had done about about 5 months ago ., My hair dresser says Hair color from the box is unsafe and a while ago suggested that i dont recolor my hair ., Anyways she says getting your hair colored by foil is safe . But i also want to know how safe Hair Rinse is.

I'd go by what your Hair Dresser says. We can't give you better advice than they can.

no hair color is "safe". they all use some chemical to open the hair cuticle layers so the color can penetrate the hair shaft. she's saying this so you'll go and pay her to color your hair. next time you go to her, tell her you bought some foil online and you're gonna try it in a few days.

No chemical/permanent hair colour is safe for hair. They all contain ammonia or peroxide or both. If you don't want to damage your hair at all AND actually make it stronger i suggest henna, it is extremely permanent and once it is on it ain't comming off (regardless if you try to bleach it) you need to take to it seriously.

I use henna, i love it.

read up on it. Sometimes it is not safe to use on already died hair, always to a test strip/strand test. That is the best site out there.

Alternatively if you want to lighten your hair a shade mix some honey (1 part) and conditioner (2 parts) and apply to where you want to lighten and leave for 8 hours while you in you jim jams at home. This will lighten your hair. Even chamomile tea and honey mask will lighten your hair if repeated. But be careful, don't use this too much as it dried hair out.

I doubt the box dyed are more or less "unsafe" to hair, they are both the same thing, you can even go to priceline or other hair store and buy the peroxide nad die seperate and mix it with the exact same products the hairdressers use.

If i were you and you wanted highlights, and didn't mind damage i would leave it to the professionals, i once did it myself and it litterally burnt off my hair. I never dyed my hair again after that. (with chemicals)

If you want a change of colour there are herbs you can use with henna that will alter your natural hair colour. But it cannot lighten to much a degree. Goodluck!
