Hair coloring q?

my natural hair color is light brown, and for a few years i have been dyeing it blonde, i want to go back to brown, so i dyed my hair dark blonde, then month later light brown and it turned my hair a redish brownish orangish shade.......i dont have the money to go to a salon, so how do i get my hair brown?, im scared if i go lighter it will be more orange, and darker it will get more red

One thing to tyr before coloring again would be to get Selsun blue shampoo. put it in your hair while your hair is still dry and rub it in really good before you rinse it out. I had a hair coloring problem a few years ago and I called the 1-800 number on the box and that is what they told me to do. She said that the dandruff shampoo lightens the hair faster than other shampoo.

See it that helps. It is a safe thing to try You do not want to over process your hair

Avoid "golden" or "warm" in the names. Think about getting an "ash brown" or at least the plain "dark brown." Anything with warm or golden in it will have "warmth" (red). My mother is a beautician...and I'm a natural red-head so: if your natural hair colour has some "warmth" to it, it will often go reddish when you put dye on it because of the lifting of the ammonia and bleach.

you should use the clarol or erbal essance hair color and just get the dark brown

Pick only Ashh shades, everything else will add red or other tones, Ashy colores take out red tones from the hair BUT it doesn't right away =S, so u will end up spending alot more that u thought, and u will damage ur hair by trying several times, be patient save up like $70 or less and go to a salon and ask them to do ur hair a light brown and that u want them to remove the red tones from ur hair, either by adding a toner or whatever they do, just go for a consultation first and find out how and how much and later do it.. i'm speaking form experience here, good luck!

You need to get a color with cool tones, you are now using some that has warm tones, thats why you are getting the reddish color. Just go to your salon have them to check what your natural color is and then get the color from a Sally's beauty supply store if you have one in your area. Tell the assistant there your natural hair color level and tell her what you want and tell her you want it in a cool tone, and just apply it over what you have. Hope this helps!!!
