my hair is originally dyed in dark brown color with a little orange tone,,now i want them to turn into light brown,,i have bought keune level 8 light blonde color with 40 volume as a developer....wat result color will i have?,,,i expect my hair to be lightest brown,will it happen,,as i m not bleaching hair before?is 40 voloume the rite choice as i want my hair to be 2 to 3 shades lighter?plz help

The higher the volume the more pull. So basically the 40 volume will probably turn you dark brown to med to light blond. I would go with a 20 volume.

Color will not lighten another color no matter what volume of peroxide you use. All you will accomplish going this route is to do more damage to your hair and possibly cause breakage. The new mixture will lighten the new growth at your scalp but leave the remaining hair unchanged. This will give you bright orange roots with still dark brown hair.... a fix only a pro can do at a likely high price.
The only way to lighten previously colored hair is to use bleach or a color remover, both products best handled by a professional. There is an option available to the non-pro at a Sally Beauty Supply store that may be helpful: Salon Care Gentle Color Remover. This is a two part color remover that contains no peroxide or bleach. It will lighten and remove the artificail color without damaging your natural haircolor or your hair.
Otherwise, please please please go to a licensed professional colorist or stylist or you will pay double later to have your mistakes corrected.

OH MY GOD!! go see a professional! Color doesnt lift color! are u nuts?? the only thing that will change is ur regrowth! then u'll look really dumb! dont do this urself! besides no matter what peroxide the only thing you'll do is damage ur hair! dont bother! listen to answer above i agree with it 110%!

I am a stylist and I'm here to help you. First step away from the PC and listen..
1 there is no such thing as a hair stripper. What most folks do is use a word associated with removing paint.
2 what is commonly used to TRY to remove the color is a powdered bleach. It rarely works and is very damaging to the hair.
3 The amount of color removed varies as to the color your trying to remove. Usually it is patchy and messy. not removing all The color evenly and also tends to leave a very ugly yellow in spots.
4 If I were you I would find a salon that has a color specialist if you can. If not call around until you find a salon that carries a product called Elimin8. It is made by Rusk. It is a color remover, what it does is remove oxidized color. That means, if the color in your hair is a permanent color or a demi color it was activated by peroxide. If it is an oxidized color it will remove it evenly and with very little stress to your hair. If you mix this product with shampoo you can gently lighten your color to very near what you want.

ok, I went to a salon and colored my hair. My hair was black so when I said I wanted it a light reddish brown, it didnt show. But I didnt want to bleach my hair so instead I just died my hair with matrix socolor in 7m (dark mocha blonde) with a 40% developer. my hair definately lightned up to the light reddish brown. But my roots were way too light. so about 2mos later, I did it again, it lightned to an even lighter reddish brown as I read about on line it would. but I started at the ends instead of the roots so I can get an even color. (the roots change the fastest). It worked, with little stress to my hair and no bleach and I saved hundreds of dollars! you can try that. it will work just fine. But start at the ends NOT the roots. DO YOUR ROOTS LAST.
