Your best bet for this is to use a color stripper and then dye your hair the brown that you want. Or, go to a hairdresser, as they will know what they are doing, and should be able to give you the result you want.

You can either strip you hair and then dye it brown ( which will dry out your hair), or you can dye your hair brown and have a redish tint to it. Each time you dye your hair it will have less of a redish tint, so you'll have to do it consistently to get back to your natural color.

Look for an ash brown or any color that says something like cool or ash in the name. Nothing warm. That's what makes it reddish. Keep it out of the sun for a week or so after dying it, too. The sun bleaches the color, making it reddish also.

bleach your hair. then use a gold toner to redevelop your underline pigment, then add brown. this will eliminate the red forever. if you are not sure use a color wheel.
