How long after coloring my hair can I shampoo?

Hi Guys,

I just went from a Med/dark Brown to dark dark brown/soft black hair color. (From the box, permanent hair color) I dyed my hair around 19 hours ago and I have oily skin so I'm starting to feel gross because I havent shampood in around 36 hours.. Do you think it will be okay if shampoo now? Or should I stick and out, feel nasty and bask on the oily glow of my new dark hair?

Thanks in advance!!

usually 48 hours is safe....and the less time you shampoo the longer lasting...also....remember each time you shampoo the more haircolor fades with it...sometimes if you sweat alot just use water in between shampoo's...to help ease the gross feeling...good luck...and rinse with cold water to close hair pores....

it says on the bottle....

I usually wait a week. But that's because I would hate to lose color.

If it says on the box, I've never seen it.

The good thing is that you darkened your hair. At least if you can't take it any more you should lose much.

Good luck.

nononono, first of all im a guy and i have dyed my hair black in the past, i learned it the hard way; that you have to wait about a week until u can shampoo, with my kind of hair dye. idk about urs but its a good idea. the longer the better, o and do it when u are at break or whatever so noone sees your greasy hair

I always wait 2 or 3 days after but i think you could go ahead and wash it if your hair is looking oily.
