Hair Coloring and Swimming?

How long do you have to wait after you colored your hair to go swimming?

Hair Coloring and Swimming?

First, I wouldnt recommend getting your hair colored if you are on a swim team. If its just to get done, I would go at least 2-3 days (maybe a week even). My sister was on her college swim team (as well as a life guard) and got her hair colored blonde. Not only did it turn green (it was funny looking) but it also became dead and started to fall out. She ended up getting her hair cut really short (like to her ears where it looked cute, thankfully) and let her naturally color come in. This may change for each person... but I would suggest in asking a hair dresser for further information. Good luck.

Hair Coloring and Swimming?

the same as for how long you wait to wash it

Hair Coloring and Swimming?

It depends on what you used to colour your hair to be honest.....certain dyes have different chemicals in them that react with chlorine but after a few days you should be fine either way...colours with ash in them tend to be more prone to turning greenish...But if anything the chlorine will just fade the colour faster. Good luck

Hair Coloring and Swimming?

Wait for a day to let the color set, and then you can go. If you have any blond streaks or highlights, be careful not to get your hair wet in a pool with chlorine purifiers, as it can give bleached hair a greenish tinge. Best wishes

Hair Coloring and Swimming?

The chlorine in a swimming pool will dry our your hair, and if its been coloured its already stressed. Plus the chlorine could react with the hair colour and cause a colour change.

So ask your hairdresser, but I think a couple of weeks is safe.

Hair Coloring and Swimming?

Chlorines fade out reds quickly and can make highlights turn funky. It has never happened to me with the highlights but it has faded out my reds. My hairdresser gives me a color protector to delay fading.

I have a question with hair coloring(please read ^_^)?

i dyed my hair black this december and it has been pretty much six months, its also very long almost to my waist. i want to do some thing different, like go to light brown with some caramel high lights or have my long black hair with violet purplish high lights. THANKS OR IF YOU HAVE OTHER IDEAS THEY WILL BE GREAT, I JUST DONT WANT THE SAME COLOR BLACK 6^_^

I have a question with hair coloring(please read ^_^)?

making it lighter will definetly be a process. i feel bad for the hairdresser who has to attempt that project.

once you dye your hair, the only way to make it lighter is w/ bleach. they would have to strip your hair, then highlight and color it. it takes hours on someone with average length hair. so you would probably take all day...seriously.

black w/ violet highlights would be easier to acheive. still a challenge, but easier. they would just have to highlight, then dye over it with the correct shade of red. pretty simple, but again, the length of your hair would make it challenging.

i dont know what you look like, so i cant tell you what would look better. if you already have black hair, chances are dark colors look good, and you could definetly pull of the violet streaks. i'm not sure about the lighter brown, because i dont have a picture.

if you decide to change, just make sure you tell the receptionist exactly what you want to do AND how long your hair is so they book out enough time for the stylist. most people don't have hair that long, so we don't usually prepare for it. DON'T ATTEMPT TO DO ANY OF THIS BY YOURSELF! GO TO A SALON!

good luck

I have a question with hair coloring(please read ^_^)?

black, caramel, and blonde.. very dramatic. you'd look good. you could even put a bright red in there to spice it up!

I have a question with hair coloring(please read ^_^)?

who is going to do it you or your hairstlylist?

I have a question with hair coloring(please read ^_^)?

you are so beautiful that any color will suit you.

still u can go for caramel hjgh lights on very light brown

I have a question with hair coloring(please read ^_^)?

the purpleish color looks real good my friend jsut had it done

I have a question with hair coloring(please read ^_^)?

Both your ideas sound great. The one thing you must do is carefully protect your hair from damage caused by exposing your long hair to repeated chemical treatments. Have a hairdresser help you with your selection of color and it's application.

Once hair leaves the scalp, it's dead, and cannot repair itself. So prevention is tantamount. Changing your color, with any formula, does damage to your hair, causing split ends and eventually breaking it off. If you really want to change hair colors twice a year, you should consider cutting your hair much shorter. Professional help will help prolong the length of your hair, especially if you decide to color it less often, or maintain the same color.

When does breakage or hair loss usually happen after several times of coloring my hair in four days?

So I wanted to get my light brown hair a little darker. I bought this clairiol color. I usually use loreal but thought about something new. So it colored my hair black. I tried putting in blonde and nothing. So i went to a salon and he put brown hair color in it and still nothing. The top a little lighter but the bottom still black. So I went somewhere else and she put in brown highlights which is so much nicer. She told me to come back in 4-6 weeks to get more to get the rest of the black out. Now I'm worried if my hair will start to fall out or break or what. When does that usaully happen. I'm so scared! I bought paul mitchell deep conditioning for once a week to help. I've only used it once I guess I should give it time. Can anyone help?

When does breakage or hair loss usually happen after several times of coloring my hair in four days?

Buy shampoo %26amp; conditioners that are specifically made for color-treated or damaged hair. My hair was kinda fried after years of coloring... I just did a lot of intense conditioning.

When does breakage or hair loss usually happen after several times of coloring my hair in four days?

Yes, you could end up with some severe breakage and damage. It might be a week or 2 until you notice it, or you could be very lucky and not have your hair break too badly.

Remember that hair is not really living tissue, like your skin. Once its damaged that's it. Conditioners can help to keep it from losing moisture and breaking, but they won't do much if its already damaged.

But if these different colouring formulas weren't left on too long and weren't too harsh (not a lot of ammonia or peroxide) you might be all right.

1. Stop colouring your hair for at least a month.

2. Use a deep conditioner 3 times a week. Or better yet, use extra virgin olive oil and leave it on for at least an hour once a week. Olive oil is the only thing that saved my hair after I bleached it to death.

Hair coloring ideas? Top deck?

I want to color my hair. I was thinking of doing the "top deck" idea. Does anyone know what I am talking about? If so, do you know where I can find a really good picture of it?

If you don't know what a "top deck" is, I was told it is where you have dark brown or black on the bottom and blonde on the top. I can't find any pictures of it. Thanks in advance.

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

I'm a guy with short hair--partly graying. A solon dyed my hair a rather magenta/black color, and then used color remover within a couple of hours. The result is something of a brassy dark auburn--NOT what the doctor ordered! How can I tone this down to make it more subtle? Some gray still shows, which is good. Can I use a non-peroxide semi-permanent wash over this?

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

You may want to try Dawn Dish soap to try and strip any color out of four hair first. My Mom in law is a hairdresser and she said the Dawn soap will take some of the color out. You may have to wash it a few times though. I would try this 1st b/4 putting any more chemicals on your hair. Good luck.

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

shave it

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

Carmel took my answer....haha....

Shave it bald. And men coloring their hair to cover the gray......yeah women know this trick......and it doesn't impress them......give it up.

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

I'd go back to your original salon and have them fix it. I'd not try anything myself because you don't know exactly what they did and what they used. Hate to make matters worse.

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

go back to the salon .. They are legally bound to fix it....

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

Have a professional help you. But I got to tell you, gray hair on a man is very sexy. Why cover it?

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

have it redyed a darker color and let it grow back in natural, then have it redyed the color you want. This will cover up your mistake until it can grow out.

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

First of all grey hair on a man is very sexy and should be left alone to impress that special lady. If you really hate it use a colour that is closest to your natural so it dosnt look treated.A semi colour will only help temperary to fix your colour now. I would suggest a permanent colour instead as close to your natural as possible and this should get rid of the reddish tones you now have. Stay away from the ash colours though as they have a greenish effect to them. Go to Shoppers or other popular drug store and talk to someone in that department as they know what colours cover up what your trying to get rid of.

How can I fix a tragic hair coloring incident?

yes, you can use a demi hair color or semi hair color. You may want to try a color that has a nuetral base.

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

i'm getting my hair colored thursday but i was wondering if its best to wash it or not? i've heard that both ways work but i was wondering what one would make the color take better?

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

wash it 1- 2 days b4 colouring and dont add any serum or leave in conditioner or any other hair product. let it have its natural oil only.

hair products will interfere with the process of colouring and natural oil will protect ur scalp against the side effects of colouring

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

It sounds weird, but the dirtier your hair is, the better it takes color. So don't wash it :)

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

no don't.

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

no you should'nt but if you do then it won't make that big of a difference

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

You are not supposed to wash it. (my friend is a hair colorist)

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

yes you should it will clean your scalp and take away the extra dirt so your hair can look fresh when u color it

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

Don't wash it within 24 hours before.

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

they say the color takes better on unwashed hair...I got that advice from a top hair colorist in a ny salon

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

wash it first to remove oil and build up, so the color goes directly on your hair and stays on longer.

I have dyed my hair several times.

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

no, in some instructions, it mentions not to wash your hair right before,i think the coloring "sticks" better to your hair when its dirty, and wait 24 hrs or at least until the next day before you wash it again.

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

You should wash your hair at least 24 hrs. prior to coloring.

http://beauty.indobase.com/hair-care/hai...

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

Ok well not washing it helps grab the color better. Go two days if you can 1 if you can't and the color should work out great. Washing it first there is nothing for the color to hold onto. Imagine squecky clean and how your hands slide off your hair. You don't want your color doing that after only 3 days.

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

The dirtier the hair the better the color will take.

Should i wash my hair before coloring it? or not?

Don't wash it. The dye takes better when your hair is dirtier. But if you are coloring it like a purple or a blue or some un-natural looking color like that, then wash it. In that case, it's better if your hair is still damp if you color it a really wild color.

Once you dye your hair, try not to get it wet for another three to four days, just so all the dye has time to settle in and not wash out so quick. :)

And be sure to get it all re-done every four to six weeks. You probably know all this already, but just in case, lol.

Have fun with your new hair color! :)

Do the colors brown on top and black on the bottom go well in the "two tone hair coloring"

i would rlly like to try the two toned hair color thingy and i'm just wondering if those colors are fine and my natural hair color is black so it may be hard for me to lighten

my hair is medium length right now about 4 inches past my shoulders but to me it isn't very long at all and it is in a V shape

would it look weird? or good?

Do the colors brown on top and black on the bottom go well in the "two tone hair coloring" thing?

Do you remember the singer Aaliyah? She had this amazing two toned hair color with black and brown. Try googling it.

Is it true tha hair coloring is bad for pregnant women?

hair color, hair straightening bad for pregnant women?

Is it true tha hair coloring is bad for pregnant women?

My Dr. told me hair coloring was totally safe.

Is it true tha hair coloring is bad for pregnant women?

i dont know about the straightning but i just dyed my hair yesturday im 32 weeks... just ask your dr. and see how they feel about it

Is it true tha hair coloring is bad for pregnant women?

Hi,

i asked my midwife if it was safe to colour my hair and she said yes..I also got it done i few times at the hairdressers when i was pregnant and my hairdresser was also pregnant and she said it was fine to do it.So i dyed my hair during my 1st 2nd n nw my 3rd pregnancy.i also straighten my hair everyday i dont think it can do anything it just makes my hair very dry...

Is it true tha hair coloring is bad for pregnant women?

There are different opinions on this subject. I would ask how your doctor feels. I have heard that using semi perm color is best while expecting due to the chemicals. The problem associated with hair dye is respiratory problems with the baby.

I personal have colored my hair, but try to wait and not do it often. I also limit how much I put on my hair. I do touch ups.

What are the upcoming trends in hair coloring/highlights/lowlights?

This is a question for all you hair stylists/colorists and generally fashionable people - what do you see coming next.... like thin streaks, wide chunks, what color combos, etc? I'm getting my hair done soon and I tend to be 5 steps behind the trends...!

What are the upcoming trends in hair coloring/highlights/lowlights?

for fall, i recomend thin highlights for darker hair. for lighter hair i would do thin stripes of a color about 2 shades darker. medium to long length hair nothing too short. hair at or past your shoulders are a good length.

I get headaches after coloring my hair?

is this normal? i got my hair colored professionally last week n since then i have been getting headaches.. can any one help me plz

I get headaches after coloring my hair?

No, it's usually not normal.

You are probably getting the headaches because of the smell given-off by the chemicals in the hair coloring.

I get headaches after coloring my hair?

yea it is, the strong smell of the chemicals gives people head aches all the time, totally natrual

I get headaches after coloring my hair?

hmm go check that out, you probably still have the hair dye scent in your hair, so you're breathing it in

I get headaches after coloring my hair?

be careful i hear its possible to get tumars

I get headaches after coloring my hair?

If they are bad headaches, you might be having an allergic reaction. I suggest going to the doctor.

I get headaches after coloring my hair?

If it happens every time, maybe you are allergic to it or the fumes effected you. If just this once, maybe something else is causing the headache. If it really bothers you, call your doctor and speak to a nurse.

I get headaches after coloring my hair?

Bald is beautiful. Cut all of your hair off. Britney did it, so should you. Start a new trend. Girls with chrome domes are seexy.

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

I'd rather you really know from comparing the brands, not just ones you like or don't like.

I'm blonde, thinking about dying my hair some color just for kicks - probably a less natural color, more red/purple...

Are there any brands I shuld steer clear of? Details would be appreciated. Thanks!

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

Don't do it. You are blond, you try to dye it red it will turn out pink no matter which shade of red you choose. I have been dyeing my hair red for nine years. My experience the cheap brands work the same. (that is all I use and have yet to have a problem.) My personal favorite stuff to use is a three step process I believe it is made by Lo real. It is about $17.00 at Wal-mart but it's great. You dye the hair as normal; towel dry it; apply the high lights; rinse; condition;and then style. It takes about a hour and a half but it works. What you should try to do is dye it a darker color like brown or in your case light brown; wait a couple weeks (two to be exact), and then dye it red. That way it wont turn pink. Use a heavy conditioner when you dye it the second time so not to dry the hair out. Once it is red the next time you go to dye your hair you don't have to keep dyeing it brown. Only the first time you dye it red.

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

My mom uses a redish type color its realy cool. Girls at school do it and its Hot u should try it.

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

I have been colouring my hair at home for a long time and have tried many different brands and colours.

Personally, I have found that Clairol hair colours seem to last longer than others I have tried and its always a pretty good price!

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

melon green

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

Revlon

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

I have used so many hair colors, I'm surprised I still have hair. Honestly I love Garneir 100% pure power. It lasts and your hair is soo shiney too. Clarol nice n' easy is good too but mainly it you want a "natural look". Happy coloring!!!

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

born bloundy

Which brand of home hair coloring kit works the best, most consistantly?

I love Lo'real preference! Any Lo'real product is good for that matter.

Question about body paint/hair coloring?

My highschools homecoming game is coming up and i cant find body paint anywhere, however i can find that temp hair color stuff, and i sprayed it on my arm and it looked aliright with 2 coats of it, has anyone else tried this, will i look stupid? give me your input

Question about body paint/hair coloring?

If you tried it on your arm and it looked okay, then it should be fine.

I've never tried doing that, but here are two recipes for body paint (personally I'd go with the first one, cause using food coloring would make me nervous that it would stain my skin...):

Face and Body Paint

--------------------------------------...

1/2 cup baby lotion

1/2 tsp. dish detergent

powdered tempera paints

Mix all ingredients and store in air-tight jars. (Baby food jars work well.) Use painbrush to paint designs on skin. Paint will wash off easily, thanks to the detergent.

Ingredients for homemade face paint:

2 TBS shortening

1 TBS cornstarch

4-5 drops food coloring

Small makeup sponges

Glitter (optional)

Mix shortening and cornstarch in a bowl until smooth. Add the food coloring and mix until well blended. Now you've got your homemade face paint! Apply paint to face and body with sponges. Washes off with soap and water!

Question about body paint/hair coloring?

I am surprised you cant find face/body paint in the Halloween isles at walmart, kmart, cvs, walgreens, and the like.

There should be tons. How far off is the homecoming?? If a week or more, order online try http://www.liquidlatex.com/liquidlatex.h...

If you are not allergic to latex gloves/condoms then you should be able to use this. It is awesome.

Have fun.

Question about body paint/hair coloring?

u will have to go to an arts n crafts store to get some body paint or have an adult go to a sex shop to get some

Is there a temporary hair coloring?

and if yes where can i buy it i plan to go gothic as halloween and i want to color part of my hair purple plz dont mention rite aid CVS or walkgreens ive tried there and no luck thx!

Is there a temporary hair coloring?

Wal- mart has a lot of different colors I know I've seen purple there but you can also get spray hair color that washes right out at party city or halloween stores but just be careful because the spray hair color can get really messy and it will end up on your shirt if your hair is longer than shoulder length

Is there a temporary hair coloring?

Hair Mascara

Is there a temporary hair coloring?

do it at the salon....my friend died her hair orange last halloween and it lasted 4 about 2 months but she didnt want it for so long so she went back 2 the salon and they put bleach or sumthing in it and after about 2 weeks u couldnt really c it.

Is there a temporary hair coloring?

colour pulse or colour flirt. lasts about a week. theres purple too! :)

Is there a temporary hair coloring?

maybe you should get a wig with gothic colors.....lol

Dos and donts after hair coloring?

I've just colored my hair, what i should and shouldn't do? thanks

Dos and donts after hair coloring?

Do make sure you keep your hair as healthy as possible. Do use shampoos for color treated hair. Do wear hats in the sun to keep color from fading. Do wash with warm, not hot, and rinse with cool water. Don't use lots of styling products. They build up and dull color and dry your hair. Don't use heated stying tools everyday if you can. They dry and damage hair. Colored hair is more likely to be brittle and prone to split ends. Have regular trims and do touch up coloring for as long as possible before recoloring entire head. Happy color:)

Dos and donts after hair coloring?

don't shower in hot water...washes away some color...

Dos and donts after hair coloring?

I would not go swimming in chlorine water, the chemicals can do nasty things to colored hair. There's a product you can buy at the beautician that will help to protect your hair when you swim.

I would wait at least 24 hours before you wash your hair to let the color soak in more. Don't get too worried if some of the dye washes out the first couple of times. This is normal.

I would buy specially formulated shampoo for colored or dyed hair. Don't use your regular shampoo for it will not enhance the color, but will make it fade very quickly.

Definitely pick up some conditioner, to keep your dyed hair, looking beautiful.

Should be all you need for beautiful, long lasting colored hair. Good luck!

Dos and donts after hair coloring?

dont wash it for 2 days then when you do make sure you rinse it in cool water makes your hair color last longer

Does this hair coloring process have a name?

I am getting my hair dyed this weekend. We are calling around to different salons to see how much it costs.

I was wondering if this process had a name;

because it's not all over color, but it's not highlights/streaks.

We're calling around places and trying to explain to them what I want done and they're acting like we're idiots.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Is it because of the hair color or because of age. I am currently 40. Also I need to touch up the roots every 2 weeks. Is it normal?

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

its probably just or age..it happens...touching up every 2 weeks is probably not a good thing...i suggest going to Sally Beauty Supply and buying a Demi-permenant hair color for touching up your hair...the girls there will help you pick out the color best for you...and with it being Demi-permenant it won't hurt your hair like permenant color does...its a conditioning color and great for gray hair especially if you have to do it like once a month

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

you're getting older, that's all. coloring your hair is not going to make you go gray prematurly

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

It's because you're getting older!

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

it mite b ur age .

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

thats what happens, have you always used the same thing?

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Of course you'll have more greys at 40, you're probably only noticing them more now because you usually colour your hair.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Coloring your hair wasn't going to prevent you from going gray. Your hair is still aging and changing along with you. You notice the gray less as they sprout but as they increase in number your roots appear more gray, they really are more gray. Your hair probably grows fast. I have to do mine every two weeks too....I am cutting it constantly. For me I notice a serious increase in hair growth when I am stressed........oh well at least its a nice way to deal with stress.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

it is because you have been coloring way to much and it is drying out you need to go get some shampoo that says ''for dry hair'' make sure it says that and get you some conditioner to!

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

its because your hair is vitamin scarce

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

No, coloring hair does not increase the number of gray hairs. As you get older and depending on your genetics, you have more and more gray hair. I have had grays since 17 and now almost 80% of my hair is gray. If you have to color your roots every two weeks, that means that you have healthy hair and it grows fast. I color my roots every 3 weeks. Don't worry and thank God for hair colors.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Constant Coloring acts as a catalyst to increase white hair.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Of course it is normal. It happens to everyone.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

That is the age not coloring. I am 25 an I have grey hair. It is hard to cover grey hair more than any other color. Did you try using toner, you can make one at home. That way if you need to do it every two weeks you won't be damaging your hair as much.

You can color your hair once every on or two months. Either full color or root touch up. In between you can create a tone and apply half of your toner to your roots and keep in the hair about 15 minutes. than apply the rest to the rest and rinse. Creating a tone is easy.

Buy whatever color you use.prepare half the usual amount and add the same amount shampoo and mix. That is how they perpare a toner at beaty shops.

If you have anyy additional questions you can contact me. Good Luck and don't worry about your grey's too much. It is a part of your beauty.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Your hair is just going grayer faster because of age. it has nothing to do with coloring your hair. The reason you have to touch up the roots every two weeks is because your hair is growing quickly, so the roots come up more quickly.

I have the same problem. I am 35 and have been coloring my hair for about fifteen years. Every few weeks, it seems like more and more grays are coming through! Ack!

Grays may be slightly more resistant to color than your non-gray hair, but Nice %26amp; Easy Root Touch Up works great on stubborn grays! I use it on my roots; it matches my hair color perfectly and only take ten minutes. I still have to dye my roots frequently but they look great when I am done!

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Welcome to age 40! You will also find that the grey hairs do not stay colored like the rest of your hair.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Go with the silver it is a badge of honor I and all my friends male and female are wearing the badge

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

Hair color won't give you greys. Touching up your new growth means either your hair is growing faster (new vitamins lately?) or that your color is no longer sticking to your hair as well as before. Greys are stubborn when it comes to taking color, some "pre-soften" their grey hair by putting 10 Volume peroxide on it for about 5 minutes, rinsing that THEN putting your darker color on it. Also at this point if you are ONLY wanting to deposit color, and not lighten, you might want to try lowering your peroxide volume over all. What volume are you using now? Maybe cut it with a bit of water. Hopethis helps. And yes, I'm a hairstylist...

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

It is just the natural aging process. Dying you hair will not have anything to do with the natural gray.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

yep im 32 dying your hair too much causes this ..ive dyed since 17...i have alot of gray...

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

I started going silver quite noticeably by age 28. By the time I hit 40 my salt and pepper hair was mostly salt. It wasn't until I turned 50 that I found out that premature silvering of hair is a good indication of early onset osteoporosis (which I have). Maybe you should think of asking your doctor for a bone density test?

As to touching up every 2 weeks...isn't it nice that they now make root touchup kits? It just means your hair is growing quickly. I wouldn't judge this as a fault.

I have been coloring my hair since age 30. Very recently I've noticed increased gray hair.?

I had the same problem. When I first began coloring my hair, I colored my hair every 4 to 6 weeks, but as time went on, I had to touch up my roots more and more often, finally having to touch them up as often as every 2 weeks. I decided it must be that the whiter and more abundant the gray roots, became, the more I noticed them. My hair began to really look dry and damaged, too. I decided to "go gray". I went a local salon and had some of the color stripped from my hair. Because of the dark color I was using (auburn) the stripped hair looked white/yellow. When dried and styled, my hair looked as if it was blond with light and caramel hi-lights. As the gray grows out, it looks as if the highlights are 2 or 3 light shades and caramel colored. To me it looks like gray roots growing out - but I have been surprised at the women who've asked me where I get my hair hi-lighted and how much they like it!

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

I have dark brown hair...looking to go to a dark blonde color without completely frying my hair....(photo on my 360 page)

What brand/shade do you reccomend?

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

I know this answer may not please you but after years of frying my hair only to have it end up orange, green or worse...I put the extra bucks out for the professionals when it comes to my hair...I would have saved $ by never touching it myself...you need a pro or you will get orange/coppery results, there is no over the counter product that will take your hair all the way to blonde...trust me...I have been through it all!!!!!

Just so you know, I am not rich by any stretch and I am very tight with a buck...but there a three things in life I splurge on, good toilet paper, real butter and hair dressers........!!!!LOL

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

I had dark brown hair and dyed it myself to medium auburn. Everyone compliments it!

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

You're Pretty lol! although, all the home dyes i have ever used, seem to wash out within the week.. so sorry, i just wanted to say you were pretty lol

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

I like both Loreal and Garnier (Garnier smells better)

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

I tried this once and my hair turned orange so i would suggest going to the salon to get it done..Also i tried getting it from black to blonde and it fried my scalp...

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

When you have dark brown hair like myself I would strongly recommend going to the salon especially when dealing with blonde. If a salon is too expensive try a tech school they are cheaper and all work is done with a instructor watching. I love doing my own because its cheaper but the school is another way to go. Good Luck.

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

Anything with an ash color in it. Ash meaning green which cuts the red. I go to Sally's beauty supply and use a cream developer, you probably want a 40 volumne since you want lift and not just deposit.

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

You're probably not going to like this answer, but it will be very difficult if not impossible for you to get the color you want (you'll most likely turn a brassy shade/reddish or worse, greyish green!)....you really should go to a salon. In order to go lighter, you have to strip the pigment from your hair and apply new color...it's not as simple as just grabbing a box of hair dye and in 30 minutes you're done.

Any stylist or cosmetician will tell you the same thing. Good luck!

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

LOREAL MAKES A COLOR YOU CAN USE-BUT IF YOU ARE TRULY A BRUNETTE-THESE LIGHTER COLORS ARE BETTER FOR THE SUMMER TIME AND LOOK MORE NATURAL.GO GRADUALLY LIGHTER WITH THE DIFFERENT SHADES THEY HAVE - SPRINGS ALMOST HERE-START NOW, AND THEN GRADUALLY GO TOWARDS A LIGHTER SHADE. IT LOOKS MORE NATURAL. PERSONALLY I WOULDN'T RECCOMEND IT AT ALL. I TRIED IT AND HIGHLIGHTS ARE MUCH BETTER.

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

I have dyed my hair at home for 12 years now.. if your hair is dark brown, you DO NOT want to do it yourself for the first time! You will come out orange, and end up paying someone to corrective color your hair at a salon anyway. Go to the professionals.. going blonde uses bleach which strips your hair of its health. Go to a salon so that they use "better for you bleach". Once a salon does your hair and achieves the color you want, you will then be able to maintain it yourself from home without looking like an orange. TRUST ME!!!

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

I've always had really good results with Feria's bleaching kit, but you do have to be pretty careful and watch your time. Some of the others like Garnier and Herbal Essences are ok, but they seemed to fade out a lot in my hair.

Good luck - and have fun :)

Ladies with experience in home hair coloring please answer?

I used to dye it at home and it NEVER came out right. Finally I went to Sally's Beauty salon and talked to one of the beauticians and they gave me the right dye, the right mixer, and this stuff you put in so it doesn't go red, orange, gold etc. My hair is light blonde so I wouldn't recommend my color but when you buy one pick a color that is neutral. Like Dark Blonde Neutral or Light Blonde Neutral. Doesn't matter what color as long as its neutral (no honey, golden, etc or it could turn orange, red, gold) Good luck! Hope it turns out good!

Can you buy the conditioners found in hair coloring kits seperately?

I really didn't know how to word this question, but I just dyed my hair a light brown and I really like the color (I did it at home by myself). I have only dyed my hair a few times before, but I've noticed that after I use the deep conditioner that is included in the box and blow dry it and straighten it with my straightening iron, my hair feels extremely soft and silky. I was just wondering if you can buy the conditioner separately and use it daily? I also noticed that after I straightened my hair it smells great, just like the conditioner, and with my regular shampoo and conditioner it doesn't smell as good after I blow dry/straighten it...it just smells like the straightening iron. Thanks for any replies!

Can you buy the conditioners found in hair coloring kits seperately?

not exactly the same brands from the one included in you haircolor kit but even better ones i should say. you could get these conditioners at your local sally beauty supply. they come in individual packages and are very very cheap and work miracles leaving hair super soft and shiny, i even used them when my hair wasn't dyed. I forgot the name of it but it comes in a white and burgundy color package. there a little bigger than the ones in the haircoloring kits. you could find them right next to the oils like the hair polishing ones.

Can you buy the conditioners found in hair coloring kits seperately?

No. What I do is use just a little of it and leave it on longer then I save the rest and use it every now and then to soften and brighten the shine. I like it too.

Can you buy the conditioners found in hair coloring kits seperately?

You can't buy the conditioner separately. The coloring companies want you to keep using their color product. L'oreal puts out a color line that has a 6 week conditioner with it. You only use it once a week though. In the interum, I've found Wen and this product is just like the conditioners you get in a kit. Look at the website chazdean dot com. His products are there. They last forever. HTH

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

I have medium brown hair with graying temples and I want to color the gray with a product that is less damaging to hair but long-lasting.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

loreal nice and easy. it lasts long

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

In order to cover grey you have to use permanent hair color. You have to open the cuticle. Wella(at Sallys) has color for grey hair that works great. Look at the color swatches they have to match with natural hair color. Good luck!!! They also have "pencils" that you apply daily if you don't want permanent color.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

Nice and Easy definately.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

Go to a salon and get it done. Anything you buy from the store that will cover gray hair is a lot harsher than professional products. The only gentle color from the store is semi-permanent colors and they will NOT cover gray. I like Redken ColorFusion for my clients with gray hair. It works great and is very gentle.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

Any color line that is amoania free is good. Any semi permanent color is good too. Use one that is for gray hair. The best way to not damage your hair by coloring it all the time is to just do the roots every month after the first time you do it. If your ends are faded then you can put it on your ends for the last 5 minutes or so. You can even spray on some conditioner before you put the color on it. Hope this helps.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

Nice and Easy is not nice and easy it is the harshest (is that a word) color out there.

Coloring Gray is really very tricky because you are coloring pigmentless (is THAT a word) hair. It is very hard to formulate correctly.

Seriously consider go to a professional for this.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

I have been using nice and easy for several years and I love it....and my hair is always soft and smooth when I am done, which is great for my hair because it is very curly and will dry out fast with out moisturizers....but I have also tried going to a salon and I have never been anymore satisfied with the end results at a salon than with nice and easy, and the nice and easy lasted longer and cost a lot, a lot, did I say a lot, less....just be sure if you do it yourself to follow the instructions for the test before you color all of your hair. I have heard of people having bad results.....

Are there any hair stylists on here that are a pro at coloring hair??If so then I am calling to you!

HI,do you know where I can find a store with magizines that have a list of hair colors to dye your hair??Or with pictures of models with good hair? Please help me!!!!!!!THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!By the way Im a girl not a guy!!

Are there any hair stylists on here that are a pro at coloring hair??If so then I am calling to you!!!?

Go to Borders to the fashion magazine section, and they have tons of hair magazines there. The ones from the UK (London) are the most high-fashion, and the one called Sophisticate's has the most styles and colors in it. They cost about five bucks each, give or take. These magazines do not recommend specific brands for dyeing your hair, but they are a great source of inspiration, and I love looking at them. The UK ones especially are all about the pictures.

Not just your adverage Hair coloring question?

I just got my hair colored. I really love it, but I want to change it a bit and wondering how I can do it without do much damage. My normal color is dark blond. I had them "break the base" at the top and the rest is a very dark cherry red. The results are great, but I want a little more blond around my face. Could I handle this at home and if so how does one go about changing red back to blond? Lastly, what is a good conditioner for my now colored locks? The process cost me $200.00 so I really don't want to go back and spend more (husband would shoot me). Please help.

Not just your adverage Hair coloring question?

Go to your stylist. In my shop I only charge about three dollars a foil and you probably won't get more than three to brighten your face. Nine bucks is a great deal compared to what you might spend to fix it if you mess it up. Call your stylist and tell them your situation, I'm sure you both can figure out a plan. They will also be able to recomend a great conditioner that fits your specific need. Best of luck!!

Not just your adverage Hair coloring question?

I honestly wouldn't suggest trying to do this at home. red is VERY hard to get out and you run the risk of turning your hair orange or over-processing it and making it break off/fall out. give your hair a rest. I'm sure it looks fine and you really don't need anymore blonde!

as for conditioner, go for something like a deep conditioning balm like Matrix Biolage. that stuff rocks!

Not just your adverage Hair coloring question?

i wouldnt do it at home tell yer husband you want more done with your hair!!!!

Not just your adverage Hair coloring question?

well first of all you dont have to spend another couple hundred bucks for this one!!! all you need to do is go to walgreens or any other place and get a highlight kit. you could do a little or alot its up to you.

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

Please recommend the safest process and/or favored hair color brands or products.

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

If you have thick and frizzy hair then I would suggest getting it thinned out a little (it really helps mine). All you have to do is tell your hairstylist you'd like them to use the razor and it makes it a lot easier to handle.

As for the hair color, I get highlights and color done by my hair stylist, but if you'd like a money saving tip I think that if you are going lighter then you should just use Sun In, you just spray it on your hair and go out in the sun for about 10 to 15 minutes and if there isn't a lot of sun you can just use a hairdryer because it's activated by heat, but if you are going darker I think Loreal is a good brand ;) hope that helps.

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

DONT DO IT!

it'll make it A L O T worse!

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

i would say try to get your hair in better condition first,

try a repairing shampoo.

i like anything from pantene pro v, it makes your hair so soft

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

fix your hair into a better condition then go to a salon that u can trust and ask them on wat u should do honestly i dont know hope this helps

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

Go to a hairdresser and get it done professionally

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

I'd get it done at a salon. You don't want to ruin your hair follicle more and damage it more by using over the counter hair dye. Plus, a stylist is trained to help you in that area.

Good Luck

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

Yes wait! Use a conditoner thats for badly damaged hair. Sunsilk works good too.

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

Get it professionally done at a salon and if you MUST do the box any box is fine especially the organic ones. Definitely buy a deep conditioning treatment and do it religiously also EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil is a great household hair conditioning treatment! I use it all the time.

EDIT: oh %26amp; for shampoo and conditioner salon products are the best, redken is expensive but really great! drugstore products really arent that great for your hair.

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

Deffintley get it done by a professional. However if you do decide to do it on your own wash your hair first and put lots of conditioner in it too.Sometimes even applying heat to it helps as well such as blowdrying it.Then dye your hair after that.

Good luck!!

=)

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

my only recommendation would be to stay away from the lighter colors - blonde hair appears more frizzy and if it has any sort of bleach in it, it will damage your hair/break your hair and will look bad - stick to darker browns that will make your hair look much more healthy.

why don't you have it done professionally first and then ask your hair stylist which products are best - they will know for sure.

I am considering coloring my hair, but it is already thick and frizzy. What are my best options?

Look for a line called J.F. Lazatigue. It has no amonia and no peroxide. You cannot go lighter with this color but if you want to stay the same, cover grey or add tone, depth and shine it is wonderful. It is NOT sold in many stores however, Neiman Marcus sometimes carries it. They have a web site and have a US location in New York.

Also, Use the best salon shampoo you can afford. Shampoos have cleansing agents in them that can damage your hair making it frizzy and look chewed up. Phytologie, Rene Furturer and JF Lazartigue are great lines as well as kerastase.

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

My natural hair color is brown, but after some "experiences" I had to dye it brown back again. I thought I had gotten the right shade, but now my hair looks a bit red in the sun! I hate it! But I heard that every kind of brown hair dye has a reddish background, so all of them look kinda red in the sun. Is that true?

I

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

Try Natural Match. It has three shades of the same color, a warm with reddish tones, a neutral, and a cool with ash tones. Try the cooler shade and it should take away the brassiness. Be sure you're not trying to go a lot lighter than your normal color too because that may have brought on the red brassiness.

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

ash brown doesn't. Learn about hair colour and the different tones.

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

that's exactly what happened to me.

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

i used a pantene product. it was a VERY dark brown at first but over the course of 2 weeks, really lightened up. i have no red rint whatsoever and i dyed it like 6 moths ago.

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

it is true and i don't think you can change it. probably only if you dye it a really dark brown.

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

i dont think so, unless you get a brown that is so dark it is almost black, which would defeat the pourpose of getting brown, because they ,mix the colour with red.

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

Well shades labeled as "ash" such as Ash Medium Brunette are "cooler" colors and do not have red undertones. The problem is that the color will eventually turn reddish as the dye fades due to the damage caused by the hydrogen peroxide. You could use a "rinsable" color or try a semi-permanent color and see if it gives you less red undertones. But make sure to only buy colors that state "ash" you don't want anything that says "warm" etc.

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

No it's not true.

There are plenty of professional hair color shades that are anywhere from neutral to ashen.

If you're coloring it yourself Good luck there,as the results with drug store bought color can be inconsistent. especially if you've had "some experiences" already.

I never get involved with those (drug store color), unless I'm fixing them.

Hope that helps

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

get a brown color with ash undertones, for instance, if the box says Ash Brown, not if it says Golden Brown

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

I'm going through the same thing now. My sister did highlights for me, but they didn't take and now I've got a lovely orange stripe on my part. :( Look for brown hair dyes that don't say copper, golden, chocolate, auburn, etc. You need an ash colour, but when I did mine it still had a red tone in the sun and looked black everywhere else. It might need to be done a few times, but not straight after each other. I don't know what brands you would use but Loreal is pretty good. Good luck :)

Is there any kind of brown hair coloring product that does NOT leave a reddish shine in the sun??

box dyes tend to do that, especially if you're going at all lighter. If you insist on doing it yourself look for something that says "ash" for the least red. Honestly though you don't have to sit under a dryer to get your hair colored at a salon and it should only take 45-60 minutes to get it done.

GO TO A SALON!

good luck

I have a question with hair coloring(please read ^_^)?

black, caramel, and blonde.. very dramatic. you'd look good. you could even put a bright red in there to spice it up!

you are so beautiful that any color will suit you.

still u can go for caramel hjgh lights on very light brown

How long do I need to wait before coloring my hair again?

My hair is naturally light brown. In the past 6 months, I have been getting it colored a darker brown. My hair kept fading back to its natural color. I just recently went to a new salon and got blonde highlights. I am not happy with it and I want to dye my hair dark again. I cannot afford to have it professionally done again. So my question is How long should I wait before dying my hair, and what is the best brand of hair color to use?

How long do I need to wait before coloring my hair again?

Be careful. Highlights could go a crazy color and does NOT act like regular hair. So you will need a gold base color. Go to the beauty supply and get Clairol's Second Nature Light Golden Brown. Mix with 20 volume developer and apply to roots first and then go right through and apply to the rest of your hair. Time it for 30 minutes and shampoo and condition as usual. It will be a natural brown and will fade to a nice shade you can live with. You will now need a glosser like Frizz Ease because highlighting does make the hair dryer. Good luck and hope this helps.

How long do I need to wait before coloring my hair again?

If you are using an over-the-counter color you could do it right now. They are usually gentle enough that it won't harm your hair in the short term. If you continue to use at home color on a regular basis, over time, it will damage your hair. Just be careful to get a color that will cover the highlights and not bring them out. Stay away from anything with red in it. As far as best brand I think they are fairly similar. You don't have to get the most expensive, but definitely don't get the cheapest. Good Luck!

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

I want to cover my grays and I was thinking of trying perfect 10 by clairol. But I'm scared that my hair wil start to break off because of the chemicals. Iv'e had a perm before, and the chemicals broke it off. Should I try hair color?

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

Use a hihg quality Hair Colour. Garnier is Good.

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

try hair color for like older women that are made to cover grays

that wouldnt hurt at all no matter how old you are

make sure you also condition a lotttttttttttt

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

It does cause some damage to dye your hair.

It is safer and better if you can get a hair stylist to

dye it for you.

I am getting my hair highlighted Saturday. It is costly and I can only do it several times a year.

Several times, I did it with a Clairol type of home kit and it

worked okay, but I think a stylist can be very precise in the application and the timing so it does not run as high a risk of damage.

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

please dont use clairol.. its the worst for your hair.. please get it done at a salon its the only way to color without damage!! i do hair

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

im sure your beautiful even with grey hair...but i think thats a good hair product and it should be fine but dont let it set that long

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

That's a toughie. I'm not a cosmetologist or anything but i do think it Will damage it. Maybe you should talk to your stylist to see what she7he says. Its their job to do whats healthy and right for your hair not what will bring in cash.

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

i would not color it. however you might want to check with a professional because there might be some conditioners that can be put on so the checmicals will not damage your hair. but i personally would not if you have that fraile of hair. nothing is wrong with gray's.

good luck

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

You should definetly go to a stylist but u might want to tell her about how frail ur hair is. But different colors can also do different things to ur hair but u also want to use good shampoo's and Really good conditionars it sometimes can get a little pricy but you don't want your hair falling out. But you can ask a stylist what are the best cheap brand shampoo and conditionars are.

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

it will probably damage it... the best thing would be to not dye it and risk really damaging your hair.

if you can, get it done by a professional.

they'll be able to take a look at your hair and give you a better answer than any of us here can.

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

Any amount of color is going to do some damage. My advice is to go to a good salon and have them do it. They have much more gentle products than we can get at any store and they know how to match your haircolor or if you want to change your haircolor they can get it the color you actually want it. Take it from someone who has experimented and messed up several times. Believe me just because the box says brown doesn't mean it's not gonna come out orange. Good luck!

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

i personally don't know i haVENT colored my hair but they do sell special shampoos to help that sort of thing. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

If you still have some the perm in through your ends I would not color your hair until all of the old perm is cut off. If you choose to color your hair you will NOT be able to perm as well. Multiple chemical services on fraile hair is a bad combo. Hair color is much less aggressive than perming, so I wouldn't worry about breakage.

I have very fraile hair, and have never colored it. Will coloring it damage my hair?

I also have wondered about this, and not just for 'the gray' cover-up. I see some of my friends (and others) who color their hair frequently %26amp; their hair seems to be very brittle.

I'm not sure about this, but I thought it was a good question!

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

My daughter has a light to medium brown natural hair color. She had blonde highlights on the brown. Looked great to me but she decided she wanted to go all blonde. Yesterday she had it colored all blonde, but it came out blonde and brassy. I called the hairstylist to fix it. We went back today and had more put on (mainly around the roots where it was brassy). It looks even worse. Blonde, yellow, and brassy. She now wants to go back to her natural hair color. Is it possible to do this without her hair falling out? She starts high school in a few days and is in tears. Please reply fast.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

it depends on what kind of dye u used...

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Ok,

ahem.

"Fast!"

I win!

Actually, that's kind of funny, because I had highlights put in myself a few days ago...kind of a golden color on brown hair, looks pretty friggin tight I must say..

And as for your problem...that...um,

sucks.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

heck nooooo and i regret it myself u should never touch her hair it was a mistake, and now i hate lookin back at my old pictures just seeing how nice it used to be and how not nice it is now

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Uh, I am afraid that she is just going to have to wait until the hair grows itself and you have enough hair with the natural color.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

I'm not sure. She may have to just go with blonde hair for a while until her hair starts to grow back to its natural color.

In case you can't dye it back, I'd say try to give her a stylish haircut, so that she'll feel better about herself at least. And without sounding too much like a pervert, guys generally go for blondes :)

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

My sister is a cosmetologist and she had a similiar experience with my best friend who had a bad dye. She had to use some sort of solution that would strip the dye out. I would call another salon and tell them the situation, make sure you ask if they have a color specialist there, they are the ones that have done the extra training to obtain this title, and are worth their weight in gold. They may still have to add some dye or may not, that is why I recommend a specialist she will know best. Good Luck!!

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Good luck!! Her hair is probably pretty fried by now. My daughter did hers black and we ended up having to grow and cut, grow and cut, grow and cut. It's been 2 years and we almost got it.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Yes she can do it...I've had similar experiences in the past. Its really hard on your hair to bleach it but its not as bad to darken it...I haven't bleached my hair in years and have been darkening it instead and its the healthiest its ever been. It will be fine, but just be warned that unless its done by a professional and maybe even then the blonde my start to come back trhought the darker over time...I haven't had highlights in 3 years and the last time I dyed my hair was the first time I have ever been able to completely get rid of the blonde.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

turning it back is a good idea her hair wont fall of!!trust me

goodlck

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

hi there well yes it is possiable BUT the hair has to be in good condition after having 2 bleach services she really needs to condition the heck out of it,i am a cosmetoligest and see this all the time i really do not suggest buying a home color it may turn ashey(green) in order to help you i need to know what you think the excact color is now also the other thing you could do is what is called a lowlight and that is puting darker strands in

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Find a colorist good at making corrections. She should be able to help your daughter get her color back as closely as possible. It's still a possibility that some hair will break off, though, even in the hands of a very competent stylist who may have your daughter take a few deep conditioning treatments before hand,to build hair strength.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Buying any dye from a store would probably work well. As long as you go for a medium brown color, nothing too harsh. But I personally suggest that you have the hair stylist do it. The only thing to really avoid is lightening it anymore.

I would suggest using an unnatural dye such as Special Effects, as they are really gentle on the hair and do not cause breakage. However unless she wants pink or purple hair... or would like to be a red head, I doubt either of you would go for it. =P

Although, they do have toner which should remove the yellow tint and make it more of a 'white-blonde'. And causes little damage in the process.

Whichever the case, make sure to get a good conditioner if she used bleach to lighten her hair.

Good luck, I hope things work out for her.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Hi Gina

I am someone who had her hair in almost every color possible except green :)

My natural color is also brown. I dyed it it blonde two years ago. Didnt like it also.

Dont worry about your daughters hair falling off after additional color application, thats NOT going to happen if thats her first time as blonde. What she has to do is to buy a hair color 1-2 shades darker than her natural and try it. If her current color is too yellow, what you need to do is additionally to the brown shade you must also buy one ash brown color and mix those two together. Ash color kills the yellow.

It might come out a little brighter than her natural, because the base is blonde. But at least she will get back more natural look. And use some restoring/nourishing shampoos/conditioners for now.

Then wait 2-3 weeks and color it brown again if required if not, leave it to grow.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Their is a product called second nature that is a deposit only color. It has no ammonia so it is not as damaging to the hair. It would have to be done in a salon though because it is a professional color.I'm sorry it happened. If she were my client,I would have tried to talk her out of it to begin with.If she does it, she will have to stay natural until it grows back out. To re apply lightener after all the hair has been through would be very bad. Also,it may fade off gradually,so you are looking at re applying about every six to eight weeks. Good luck to you.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

She will eventually get her natural colour back..it won't happen for her in time for school though. Hair dye untreated will stay in the hair for around six weeks, but because she has peroxided her hair, it will go that copper orange colour, then it will fade oout slowly. She can dye it back to medium brown, it shouldn't effect her but just to be on the safe side, do an allergy test to make sure that she will be okay.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Go to a hairstylist, and ask the stylist for "reverse-streaks". Together, the three of you can look at hair swatches for a close match to her own natural color.

The hairstylsit will then pull streaks or do foils but instead of using bleach, she'll use her natural color and as an end result, she'll look as if she has had her own color, highlighted.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

It is possible to get it a color closer to her natural color or at least enough to blend it so that she could just let it grow that way.If her hair doesn't seem to damaged, wait at least a week before putting anything else on it. When you darken it, go at least a shade lighter then the color you want because the color might grab since her hair has been lightened. Avoid ash tones because it might turn it green or gray. Try a nuetral or beige tone.

How can I fix my hair coloring mistake? HELP!?!?

My natural color was dark brown. I SOOO wanted blonde highlights, so I bought this bleaching kit...Followed the instructions to the T, and now? my hair is Orange/Golden (ugly!?) and the dye is ALL over my hair, it didnt come out in streaks like I had wanted...Im wanting to fix it so that I have my dark brown, with the highlights as the color I have now...How can I do this without damaging it further?? What can I use to CONDITION/MOSTURIZE my hair?? It's SOOO dry!

How can I fix my hair coloring mistake? HELP!?!?

LOL @ "so dry"

ok on a serious note I read this article %26amp; its really good....read under "VERY -DRY HAIR"

http://www.womenfitness.net/beauty/hair/...

Btw, never dye your hair permanently, just use temporarily hair spray.

How can I fix my hair coloring mistake? HELP!?!?

Bad news; ;you should NOT mess with it any more!! you'd be better off getting it cut as short as you can stand and letting it all grow out...If you want to correct your mistake, you should really go to a salon and have the correction done professionally; you would NEVER be able to select the right colors, etc. to correct the mess you have now......as for conditioners, you can use anything on the market that's for dry hair, and don't go spending a fortune on it, either, they are all basically the same.......my coarse, dry hair responds to any of Tresemme's products, %26amp; also SunSilk and VIve for dry/curly/frizzy hair, but use both the shampoo and conditioner of the brand you choose......good luck!! email me with whatever you decide to do; I'm curious!!!

How can I fix my hair coloring mistake? HELP!?!?

Hey, I kind of had the same problem as you, but I bleached all of my hair just to lighten it, then dyed a lighter colour over it. the colour is fine, but the condition of y hair is dreadful :( Try hot olive oil (not too hot you burn yourself!) massaged into your hair and left for a good hour or so. As for your hair, you could maybe bleach it all to get an even colour, then dye it dark brown again, or maybe dye it dark brown now and see if it turns out okay? The streaks may dissappear or even look quite nice!!

Don't feel as though you HAVE to go to a salon or you HAVE to cut all your hair off, that's rubbish. Just take care of it the best you can, then go to a salon for highlights later.

How can I fix my hair coloring mistake? HELP!?!?

Well I did the at home highlighting cap by myself once and omg it was blotchy and yellow and horrible I ran to the grocery store grabbed another box of hair dye and did it the same day. I have baby fine thin hair and I was praying to every god possible to not let my hair fall out while doing this. SO it came out fine and my hair didnt fall out so do that but dont dye your hair more then once a day ever again.

And look for a heavy conditioner for your hair and my lady at the salon told me that oil treatments dont work but to get a very heavy conditioner to make it less dry

What do you think about this hair coloring (pictures inside)?

i like the blond....if you were to add some contrast with the brown hilites however, i wouldn't go too dark and drastic with it, you are right, it is different but the change itself is already a big one. at first, id do the blond but just with some suttle, carmel hilites. go for it thought, it will look cute!

What do you think about this hair coloring (pictures inside)?

Leave it alone.

What do you think about this hair coloring (pictures inside)?

Yes! That is gorgeous. I love the black lowlights. But I think you could go even lighter. Like, black on platinum. I love when people have that aaah!

What do you think about this hair coloring (pictures inside)?

I think that would look great!! The dark undertones are really nice.

What do you think about this hair coloring (pictures inside)?

What do you think about this hair coloring (pictures inside)?

well if your hair is naturally red...you probobly have very fair skin,....keep that in mind bc the in the pic that girls skin is not fair. there are websites where you can upload a pic and "try on " different hairstyles...you may want to try that to see what you would look like with light hair

What do you think about this hair coloring (pictures inside)?

i like it. it's different and creative, but not completely out there. but sometimes when you dye hair blond and black it turns gray, so watch out for that.

My friend has brown hair with black underneath and it doesn't look strange at all. Go for it.

it's ugly in my opinion.

Thinkin bout coloring my hair bronze whaddya'll think?

The hair color i bought is Dark and Lovely and the shade is called golden bronze!

Thinkin bout coloring my hair bronze whaddya'll think?

Ask your mom

Thinkin bout coloring my hair bronze whaddya'll think?

Let a professional do it for you. Then you know it will come out right!

Thinkin bout coloring my hair bronze whaddya'll think?

How dark is your hair?? If it is dark brown or black, it will not come up very light. It may just lighten it up to a very dark caramel tone. Also, is you hair currently colored? If so, it may be more porous and the results will be unpredictable, because it could "grab" darker, or possibly go lighter.

I don't know if this helps, but sharing my knowledge as best as I can here.

What is the best hair coloring product to get rid of gray hairs?

I have tried just for men and it doesn't last long. Would you recommend getting it colored at a hair stylist or professionally?

What is the best hair coloring product to get rid of gray hairs?

How gray are you? If it's about 1/4 to 1/2 gray, then you shouldn't try permanent color, you should have it "blended" out.

Go to a professional colorist that uses Redken. There is a product from Redken, meant for just this purpose, it's called Color Camo. It's for men. It only takes about 15 minutes to do, it's inexpensive, and you can have it done when you go in for your haircut. Plus, it's not really high maintenance because it's not "permanent haircolor" therefore you aren't going to get ugly gray roots.

I am a professional hairdresser, and I use this on my male clientele. They love that it's geared towards men and it only takes a few minutes at the shampoo bowl. They don't have to sit there with color on their head.

Don't try and do this on your own because color is sooooo easy to mess up.

Ok i need some help with hair coloring after a salon has colored it?

i had my hair colored at a salon on tuesday. i told her that i wanted a blonde color. but a natural blonde color. i was like a dirty blonde with some old highlights in it. well she put bleach and mixed 2 colors i guess. anyway im not happy with my haircolor at all. it looks a yellowly blonde and i want to hide it lol. can i go out and buy a brownish blondish box color and dye it again soon. i dont want to wait. it looks horrible to me. what should i do...help!!!!!

Ok i need some help with hair coloring after a salon has colored it?

You should go back to the salon and tell her that you weren't happy at all with the color, and if she could do it again. You paid for the job, and you obviously want a good job, right? So go and tell her the exact color you want "with toner", make sure to include the toner because that allows the warmth of the blonde to turn into a dirty sandy blonde.

Ok i need some help with hair coloring after a salon has colored it?

Go back to the salon and have them redo it for free. No box colors!!! Box colors are the HARDEST to get lighter when you want to go light again. Please, whatever you do, don't use a box color. Most reputable salons have a redo policy, or they can give you your money back and you can get it done at another salon. Either way, let the stylist know (nicely) that you are unhappy with your service and would like a redo or a refund. They should oblige. If not, go to the manager, etc.

Ok i need some help with hair coloring after a salon has colored it?

you need to go to a different salon and have them strip the color and re-color it with a better color. Don't try to fix it on your own. You will most likely either one fry your hair or two end up going to the salon to have them fix the scary color you got out of a box. It is better to have a professional do it. You will be much happier with the end result and have less of a chance of frying your hair.

Ok i need some help with hair coloring after a salon has colored it?

It's usually best to wait a week or two before coloring your hair so soon. Overprocessing of chemicals on the hair tend to dry out the scalp quickly. To me, it sounds like they used a golden blonde coloring on your hair. Try a light ash blonde on top of that.

Ok i need some help with hair coloring after a salon has colored it?

yeah you shouldnt have left untill she done it right!!! you out to go back to her and tell her to put a base color that has violet in it. (scary i know) that will cancle out the gold looking blonde and lighten the color to the blonde you like. I have had to do this before. But first get a scalp treatment ( its a deep conitionier)

oh by the way if you want to do it your self heres a good product to use: shimmering lights shampoo. that has violet in it and it helps take out the brassy color. you can get it a beauty stores.

if you need to know what it looks like heres an example:

http://www.cosmeticmall.com/product_deta...

ps: dont freak out, its very simple to fix, you dont have to hide behind brown honey!! show off your beautiful blonde afterwards.

Ok i need some help with hair coloring after a salon has colored it?

I don't know where you live but I go to the BEST hairdresser and colorist in VA - Fredericksburg and she is also in New York- just call and she will help you - definitely!! Sandy-540-785-2517- tell her Super Nanny Barbara sent you.

Redken,Paul Mitchell,etc. Hair coloring.?

Right now I go to a Redken school but love using Paul Mitchell hair color. Any suggestions/stories on what works best for you? Im still trying to understand the whole color wheel but I feel it will be awhile. Also if there is any kind of good website for cosmotoligists that you can recommend I would love that as wll! Thanx so much!

Redken,Paul Mitchell,etc. Hair coloring.?

Having used just about every brand of professional color out there, I have found a few lines better than the rest. However, when I opened my salon I chose Redken because they have excellent tech support as well as being one of the best color lines. Behindthechair.com is an excellent site for hair care professionals, you have to check it out!

Redken,Paul Mitchell,etc. Hair coloring.?

Learn all you can about these products. But if you prefer one over the other that is your choice. The school can't dictate your "personal" preferences as to what you use. Sorry, off hand I don't know of any cosmetologist websites. But try a "search". I'm sure you'll find lots of sites. Good Luck!

Redken,Paul Mitchell,etc. Hair coloring.?

I went to a redken school last year. I didnt perfer it. I like Chi. It seems to not fade as fast. But, google is good!

Redken,Paul Mitchell,etc. Hair coloring.?

You should be comfortable with ALL colorlines. I like SoColor most of the time, but if I'm doing a tint back I use Redken Color Gels. It holds better even though it comes out much darker. The reason you need to be comfortable with all colorlines is because unless you booth rent you will have to work with whatever colorline your employer chooses. You don't necessarily get to choose. But they aren't much different so you'll be fine. You'll learn more when you actually get out in the workplace then you'll ever learn in school.
